Lots of bridges cross the Mississippi River. I’m still on the “K” side (for those of you who don’t know: television and radio stations west of the Mississippi have their call letters begin with the letter K), but that doesn’t mean there’s not another bridge in my future: one in the title of a song! #6: Burning Bridges - Jack Scott One of the more frequently covered “bridge” songs on the list (along with #1….), Jack Scott’s 1960 top five hit has seen a few re-dos over the years. Most notably, by Glen Campbell, who had a top 20 country hit with the song in 1967. Jack Scott has a song on my 100 favorites list. Not this one, but he had a good voice and a career that continued pretty much up until his death in 2019. This is one of his more memorable songs. Burning Bridges Written by Walter Scott (NOTE: no relation) Recorded by Jack Scott From What in the World’s Come Over You, 1960 Don’t want nothin’ to remind me of you:
Burning Bridges by Jack Scott About Jack Scott Jack Scott sounded tough, like someone you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley unless he had a guitar in ...

I had to look him up because as I was looking at him..he looked Italian to me..and sure enough ..Jack Scott is not his Christian name. It is Giovanni Domenico Scafone Jr.

I thought this was going to be the Kellys Heroes Theme Song, Burning Bridges. And it's odd, I thought you might use it and you did, it's just a completely different song. There is one exception to the K-W Rule. WOC in Davenport, Iowa (Davenport is also the only Iowa city Johnny Cash uses in Big River, "Cavorting in Davenport"). WOC was licensed before the rule took effect. I think it was in 1922. The TV station was also WOC but someone bought it a few years ago and they changed it to KWQC. One last bit of WOC in Davenport trivia. Ronald Reagan (You might remember him. He was a great actor and lousy politician but he did manage a fair bit of success in politics anyway) got his first radio job at WOC in 1932.

There are exceptions in the east, too, most notably KARE in Pittsburgh.

New one for me. And I have burned a couple bridges in my time, to save my sanity.

Not familiar with this one. Didn't know that about the TV and radio stations.
