Maid of the Mist - a memory

We were given blue rain coats to take a ride in the maid of the mist to have a close look at the Niagara Falls on the US side. We wore yellow rain coats when we went behind the Horse Shoe Falls in Canada.
Great memories. The water turned into mist hit us right on our face and I liked that feeling.
This video shows the Falls
Wonder what happens when the water freezes. That option will be surely cancelled.
Wonderfull Niagara waterfalls on both sides USA and Canada. You can also see the city of Niagara on Canadian side and the peacefull Niagara on the Lake.

I remember going to Montreal with my relatives in 1976 for the Summer Olympics and enjoying my time seeing in person Niagara Falls.

@allknowing I know what you mean since the visit was in the daytime only for me and my relatives.

With how fast they flow, I don't think it ever has.

I have been to the falls during all of the seasons.
My favorite is the late winter and early spring.
It is fascinating to be there and not hear the roar of the water because of the ice, or feel the mist on your face, because everything is frozen. Of course it takes you days to unthaw yourself.
In early spring you can see the ice floats coming down the river and over the falls, that is impressive.

Wow!! You have some great memories. I have seen images of the frozen Falls. Those ice chunks floating must have been a sight for 'soar eyes'

@misunderstood_zombie I never indulge in memories that bring bitterness back

I was that close to Niagara Falls you know.
But my lover at the time was pulling jokes and then we could not go

Not exactly refreshing. It was more about creating a memory. None fell off
