I am watching right now a series called Maid and it is not really about a maid. It is about relationships and Alex is one of the main characters in the show. She works as a maid but she has a daughter with her ex-boyfriend who is an alcoholic and abusive one to Alex emotionally. She wants to get a head and loves her daughter and has been taking care of her mother. Her mother is hard to deal with. Alex wants to go to College but not there in Montana and the father will not let her take the daughter. Maddie is Alex's daughter and she did something Alex did when she was a child too and that was that she hid in a cabinet because her mother and father were fighting and he was drinking and he threw a plate that did not hit her. Alcoholics are very charming and so hard for people to understand when the partner tries to defend themselves against an abusive person like that. There is plenty more to the show but this is where I am at now and so will stop here.

Sounds interesting. Yes, too bad that abusive types often are quite charming...

They are a fake charming. They eventually show their true colors but if one is not around them a lot then they show their fake self and others do not believe one when they tell the truth about them.

@Hannihar True. Eventually they slip up and true colors come out. But you have to really wait for it. So like you say if someone isn't around them a lot... all they know is the charming part. *sigh*

Sometimes people will not see how bad they really are and it is very sad that the truth does not come out. It is sad that people just may see what the bully wants them to see and will never see the truth.

Scott, I would not say a blast. it is a heavy show but it gives you a message and I loved how she got her life in order after how she grew up and the boyfriend she had that was horrible. She was such a good Mom. I loved how she treated her daughter and wish I had a Mom like that. It tells a story and a story I understand. Not all would understand it.

I can say I understood what she was going through and was very proud of her how she got up and pulled herself and her daughter up. I am still learning things about life and find it very hard and seem to find nasties wherever I got and cannot get away from them.

I really got a lot out of it and enjoyed watching her grow. I am hoping for a season 2 with her and her daughter in it. She was such a good mother and with all she went through. I could relate to some things but unfortunately never got to be a mother.

She is very good in it and also she is a great and patient mother with her child. The child loves her mother so much.
