US Capitol Police Officer Indicted

Eugene, Oregon

I'm very disappointed to hear that a US Capitol Police officer has been charged with obstruction of justice for sending one of the January 6th rioters at the capitol a message saying that he, the police officer, agreed with the rioter's political stance, but advised the rioter to take down photos that he had posted on Facebook of himself taking part in the incursion into the capitol. The officer is a 25 year veteran of the department and will more than likely face trial for his offense. He was not directly involved in the battle to prevent people from illegally entering the capitol on January 6th, but was on canine duty. What a shame this is.

It is sad, but he had to know what he was doing.

@JamesHxstatic Exactly, he cannot deny that he agreed.

No doubt that it was purposeful, even saying that he agreed with the rioters.

The officer was sworn and he got involved the wrong way. I wonder how the whole thing will go down in the end. He stands to lose his retirement.

I think he should. He is no better than the ones who broke in.

@JamesHxstatic He should be just as the others. He used his badge the wrong way.

Someone needs to take responsibility for what happened that day.

It is always a real shame when someone who is supposed to be on the side of the law does what he should not have done,

It really is. I heard this morning that as many as 2 dozen police officers across Oregon are members of the Oath Keepers right wing crazy group. I hope they are found and fired.
