Been making Christmas cards

I've been making loads of Christmas cards. At the last count it was 30 but I haven't counted them since so I don't know how many of them I've done now! The ones I've done so far have been from kits. I had some bits left from a kit I bought last year, and I've also done some from a new kit bought this year. Tomorrow I'm going to do some stamping. I have a subscription to Creative Stamping magazine and they send you a free A4 set of stamps every month. Last month they actually sent 2 A4 sets of stamps. There were 4 sets of stamps, 2 on each A4 sheet. One of them was a nativity set, and Mum likes me to do lots of nativity themed Christmas cards. So I'm going to use those tomorrow in my stamping. I've already designed the first card I'm going to use the stamps on. A sentiment (Remember the reason for the season) will go on a banner at the top, which I've already cut to size. A triangle shape will dominate the centre of the card, which I've already cut to size also. Other stamps will be stamped, cut out and then placed on the card with foam pads. I'm getting excited just thinking about it! Then I will design more cards and stamp on them tomorrow. On Friday me and my Mum went shopping and, aswell as the usual stuff, we went to The Entertainer toy shop to buy some presents for my little nephews who will be 10 on 29 October. I have already got the twins some Lego from Tesco for their birthday, so on Friday I was getting them some Christmas presents but Mum was getting them some birthday presents from her. I got them some construction kits (not Lego this time) that when you've built it, the item has several functions, and each has instructions to make 2 items from the same pieces. I got them a pick up truck and a racing bike. Mum got them some robot toys. One was a jumping frog, the other was a walking something or other but I forget what it was! Others we could have got were a rolling panda and a Sumo something or other! Are you doing anything to get ready for Christmas yet?

@rakski I also made 2 cards to use as money wallets for my little nephews. I get a subscription to Creative Stamping magazine and each month it has a free A4 set of stamps. This one month it had stamps of cute fruit, and there were little arms, legs and faces that you could add to them. So I stamped the sentiment "Birthday Wishes" up the side of a DL sized card, and then I stamped a little pear, a little apple and a little strawberry down the first card with arms and legs. Then I added faces to them. The first face I did was a smily face with eyes closed, then I did a face with his tongue sticking out, and another face. On the second card I stamped the sentiment just the same as the first card, but I put the fruit in a different order. I put the strawberry first, then the pear and then the apple with their arms and legs. Then I put on the little faces. One of the faces I did for this one was a smily face with glasses, and another one looked like he was going "Oooo"! The little face, and arms and legs stamps are so small you have to be careful you don't lose them. I nearly lost one of them twice but I managed to find them. Phew! Then I coloured the little fruit in. I then looked in the magazine and looked at some of the tutorials for how to use the stamps and realised that I should have stamped the arms and legs after I'd stamped the main part of the fruit. I stamped them at the same time and it made it look like their arms and legs were disembodied from their bodies! But they still look OK as little cartoony things on my nephews money wallets!

My Mum is going to buy most of them off me for her friends and family. I have only just started making cards for mine and I've done 2 for them so far!

I send Yule short stories in the mail each year. Due to postal issues this year I'm thinking I will start earlier than usual.

You'll have to show us some of the card designs! I have been stocking up on gifts for the girls for a while, basically every time I see something suitable I get it and hide it away. But apart from that the thing we have been doing is making Advent calendars - we decided to make an 'everlasting' fabric one where we can put things in the pockets, rather than buying those cardboard, plastic and foil ones every year that just create lots of waste.

Nice, for news says mail will be much slower this year. My order which when shipped from ND, usually takes 5 days is stuck at KY for a week. I'm buying more retail, now. So far, pretty good things on shelves.
