The respected psychotherapist, Arthur Artwell, was having a chat to his client about how she could be better her real self.
He quoted something that that great spiritual giant, Sri Ramana Maharshi, once said.
"Being your Self is being pure Love."
"How can we be pure love, or our real self, then?"
he asked.
And then he answered his own question.
"To be love, love."
"It is really that simple, and when you do love, you will be your real self then too."
"Love lifts you into your real self, and your mind, and lower selves, are often surprised by the height of knowing of your soul, and higher self."

to be, or not to be (real)
that is the question - should be, can we, will we be real?
the answer as Bob Dylan said is blowing in the wind.

In some ways too, how can we ever not be real?
Realness is our very backbone, but we walk along stooped over, and not upright in that realness.
Perhaps, we do need a stiff breeze at times too, to lift us up/out/away, from our droopiness.

@DocAndersen Yes, a dream does feel real at times, but we usually get some clue, that it is a mere dream, placed within it somewhere.
One of my wakeup clues that I am dreaming is if in the dream I am wearing my dressing gown, in my office, or in a shop, for example.
Sometimes, I can fly in a dream, and that usually clues me in too.
In real life, I am yet to receive such a clue, that all of this might be just a dream, and yet, I have had a few experiences that made me think that I was dreaming while awake too.
My hypnosis sessions of having past lives was like that, as well as my rebirthing sessions too.
I have had a few visions as well, that have come to me at various times, and they give me call to ponder too.

@innertalks not to throw out a movie, but the matrix and other's often play on that concept. the reality is, we do not know if we are real or in a dream.

Yes, I agree, real love is always healing, as it patiently loves the patient.

Yes, I agree with you there.
I would like to give real love, and I sure would like to receive it too.
This might mean that we must give love and receive love from our authentically real self too, instead of just giving a shadow of love to others, as a feeling, generated by some need, want, or desire of our minds, instead.

Nicely said, siva.
The real self is always there, but at times, it does seem to be hiding its face from us, as with the sun.
Sometimes, we need to help it to rise to the occasion in us, as otherwise, we will go through too many dark nights of the soul.
Our real self will always rise up in us if we allow it to do so.
Sunrise. The sun comes out from hiding every morning, without fail, so should we.

@Shiva49 Yes, if nature adopts a nasty streak, we are history. We can do little against the power of nature.
It is said even if we lose most of the bees in the world, we are history then too.
Einstein knew this years ago, and this quote of his shows us how far ahead of others he was in his thinking, even way back then.
“If the bee disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live.”

@innertalks Thanks Steve, nature is the best guide for us as to how to stay positive and loving/ Without its benevolence we all are history
