Ah well I have finally discovered the name of the skin condition I am dealing with. It is a type of ezcema and is caused by stress, anxiety, or depression. (check! check! check!) The good news is that the topical corticosteroid cream that the nurse practitioner prescribed is working well and I haven't felt the need to scratch at all. The insides of my elbows are already looking much better. Hopefully this will be gone soon. I had an issue with it last year and managed to get over it without any treatment. This cream is helping it to heal much more quickly.

Good that you have the right diagnosis and you know the reason. That's so important for a right fruitful treatment. I am glad that the corticosteroid cream is working for you
