It's isn't that cold...

I was in the midst of my own thoughts a bit ago when the system kicked on. For a moment, I thought that it must be the air conditioning. After all, it is a tad stuffy in here. It didn't feel any cooler when it kicked off; a few minutes later, it kicked back on. I went to check the thermostat. It was the heat. Without saying a word to my apparently "frozen" husband, I turned the temperature back to a reasonable temperature. If he is that cold, he can put on some heavier clothes. As for the cats and I, we stand firm on keeping the temperature at a level that doesn't make the place feel like the circle of the netherworld that it actually is.

What is it with husbands thinking they are cold? Sheesh!

He is outvoted here. Three-to-one says that 74 degrees is not a temperature at which the heat should be running. Plus, since two of the individuals voting are covered with fur and have few sweat glands, their votes actually carry extra weight.

Good for you. Though, my heat-loving husband asked me to lower the AC this summer.

I just went and switched it back to air conditioning, because it was feeling too stuffy in here. The strange thing is that it hasn't been cold in here at any point today-- not even a slight chill. So, I'm confused as to why he felt that 74 degrees was a point at which he needed to turn the heat on.

Yes, that he can. I do think, though, that it has turned now. When we came back in today, I found that it was just chilly enough to warrant the heat. I'd left it set to air conditioning while we were gone, because it had been stuffy when we left. Perhaps, it has now at last moved past that point.

@wilsongoddard My wife and I don’t discuss heat - she switches it on then I switch it off and then she switches it on again.

It's running the other way around with us this year. In previous years, though, I was more inclined to be the one turning up the thermostat.
