I got out of bed to put some lentils to soak. / myLot

Good morning, friends. I had never heard about craving lentils and for me it is a first. Yesterday, as I was looking for a movie to watch, I suddenly had a craving for lentils. I haven´t had then for a while and they are my favorite legumes. I got up, went to the kitchen and soaked some. It was a good idea as today, the first thoght when I woke up was about some lentils for lunch. I am now going back to bed. Lunch will be easy as I cook them in my pressure cooker. Later I will get up for my breakfast and start my day. For the moment, I´ll take to my room my first cup of coffee. See you later, friends.

I've never craved lentils before either not have I craved any beans. It's been yes since I've had lentils as my husband won't eat them now does he like split pea soup which is my favorite.

I have never liked split peas much. Now that I live alone, I can eat exactly what I want. For decades I could not cook cauliflower at home as my husband would not eat them nor did he like their smell. Cauliflowers now are one of my favorite veggies although I eat them either al dente or just marinated.

@MarshaMusselman Now that I only eat homemade mayo, I often just blanch cauliflower and eat it with mayo for a salad.

I like lentils, I cannot remember craving for lentils, but when I make them I know that I like.

@LadyDuck I like so soak them. THen I cook them for 10 minutes in my pressure cooker.

Amen, We have spaghetti and that sounds good. too. I love premade food. Go to sleep wake up and feast, best invention ever.

I cannot say I have looked forward to eating lentils before. They are a good staple food though.

I guess it much depends on how you cook them. I love to cook and I have made people eat food that they would not try before.

what you will do with those lentils? We never cook lentils here (seeing from your picture)

I boil them with in the pressure cooker with water and milk. They I add caramelized diced onions, garlic, dry sweet pepper and several spices. Many times I add either bread crumbs or cooked rice.
