Well, I guess this is the end of the “unknowns” in the countdown of songs with “monkey” in the title. This countdown was suggested by @DocAndersen . Most people know what’s #1, and I’m not disappointing. Like the “bridge” countdown, I can’t be that unpredictable. So here’s today’s song to monkey around with. #2: Coffee Monkey - Bottle Rockets And JJ nods in agreement, although he will say, “they misspelled coughee.” The national anthem of coffee drinkers. “Drink about ten cups in a row, then it’s out the door and grab a cup to go.” Who can relate? No, I don’t drink coffee. I don’t think, in my entire life, I’ve had a full cup of coffee. I can’t stand the taste. Oddly, I love the smell of a canister of coffee grounds freshly opened. And oh, did I love driving by the Maxwell House plant in Jacksonville with the windows down!! (That and the Dole pineapple plant in Honolulu are my two favorite smell memories of the Navy.) But I was also in charge of the coffee mess in Jacksonville, and I know how sailors are with their coffee. And Marines. AND soldiers. AND just about everyone else who drinks it. So enjoy this ode to coffee consumption, which sounds like it was recorded after a gallon or two….
