I Tried The Recipe

There was a recipe that I saw on Youtube that I wanted to try and after about a month, I finally did. I made half the amount of the original recipe just in case I didn't like it and there wouldn't be a waste. The "Cheesy" Sauce was ok. It could be a little bit thicker so I don't put as much water in it next time. Could use a tad bit more salt, too. I think I either need to leave the Cheesy broccoli rice casserole in the oven a little while longer or pre-cook the broccoli and cauliflower. I didn't make any rice so I substituted it with cauliflower. I think the next time I make the sauce, I will add some carrot for color and use cauliflower and rice for the casserole. I give this attempt a 6 out of 10.

@Shavkat Yeah, I guess you're right... She needs to think about all her friends when she cooks good stuff, though.

There are moments that I rely on youtube for recipes, I just watch how a dish was prepared and I sonetimes put my own version in it. Not a follower of how many cups or teasespoons ...

Haven't I read this discussion before? Leave out the rice and just increase the oven time ten or, maybe, fifteen minutes. That will reduce more of the moisture so the cheesy sauce is thicker and you won't need to pre-cook anything. (Using rice in it would have absorbed some of the water from the broccoli and cauliflower... but I won't eat it if you put rice in it. ) If you add carrots, you will need to pre-cook them as they take longer to become tender than the other veggies usually take or sliver the carrots and they'll cook in the same amount of time the broccoli takes.
