In 1957 Jerry Lee Lewis came out with "Great Balls Of Fire" The single made it to number one on the UK singles chart. In 1960 Elvis was at number one on the UK singles chart with "It's Now Or Never" The song was based on the Italian song "O Sole Mio" In 1962 The Crystals were at number one on the US singles chart with "He's A Rebel" In 1973 David Bowie had his second UK number one album with Pinups The set contained Bowie covering his favourite 1960s songs; his version of The Mersey's 'Sorrow' made No.3 on the UK singles chart, (first recorded by The McCoys in 1965). The same year Hall and Oates came out with Abandoned Luncheonette The album included their best-known track "She's Gone" In 1979 Robin Scott was at number one on the US singles chart with "Pop Muzik" In 1984 Billy Ocean was at number one on the US singles chart with "Caribbean Queen" The same year Paul McCartney was at number one on the UK album chart with the film soundtrack to Give My Regards to Broad Street featuring the single "No More Lonely Nights" In 1990 The Righteous Brothers were at number one on the UK singles chart with "Unchained Melody" The track was featured in the movie "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze The same year Vanilla Ice was at number one on the US singles chart with "Ice Ice Baby" In 1992 Bon Jovi came out with their fifth studio album Keep the Faith. The album produced three Top 40 hits: 'Keep The Faith', 'Bed of Roses' and 'In These Arms.

Righteous Brother Bill Medley was in my graduation class at Santa Ana HS, 1959. A few years later, he took his draft (Army) physical the same day I did. He failed, but I got drafted and watched him on Shindig all the time.

@RasmaSandra He had another partner before Hatfield. Funny, I was in the "elite" men's chorus "Esquires," and had no idea that Bill sang at all.
