Helpin' Out and It's A Mess

Last Wednesday or Thursday, the producer of the current show at community theater contacted me and asked if I could help out with costumes during dress rehearsals and show nights. I told her that I would. It is kind of hard to figure out what is going on when the costume designer is nowhere in sight to let me know what is what about the costumes, what still needs to be done as far as pulling any accessory pieces or shoes and such, what still needs to be done as far as mending and/or alterations, and where I would be needed to assist the actors with quick costume changes. So, I'm pretty much on my own there. Yay. About 97% of the costume pieces look fine. 3% of the costume pieces do no look all that great. I'm glad I don't have my name on the design aspect for the show. I have wanted to cry because one of the dresses does not look good. at. all. I will be going to the theater early tomorrow evening to do a few last minute mends and look for a scarf and a few other things. I hope things will come together better from now on than when I first started helping out.
