And Now, a Word for Our Veterans

Thursday, November 11 is Veterans Day in the U.S. Other nations still celebrate it as “Remembrance Day,” commemorating the end of World War I on November 11, 1918.
Way back when, the U.S. buffet chain Golden Corral teamed up with the Disabled American Veterans to honor vets with a free meal. After 9/11 a lot of restaurants joined the celebration of paying tribute to the veterans.
So, for all my fellow vets here, SALUTE! And make sure you take advantage of any of a number of national restaurant chains giving free meals to veterans in honor of Veterans Day.
This year the list includes:
*IHOP (International House of Pancakes)
*O’Charley’s
*Buffalo Wild Wings
*Olive Garden
*Texas Roadhouse (giving certificates good for a free meal)
*Denny’s
*Red Robin
*California Pizza Company
Other regional chains (such as Fazoli’s and Calhoun’s) are offering free meals to veterans.
Proof of service is required, of course.

I am pretty sure Applebees does too, or at least they used to. Thank you to you and all vets for your service.

Some if the stores here give extra discounts that day when shopping also. I feel all of you should be honored every day.

Places like Home Depot give a 10% discount all year. There’s a local chain of restaurants that gives a 10% discount all year, too. These places are very gracious.

@FourWalls Lowes gives it all year also. But many dont. The farm stores usually have a good sale on Veterans day with extra discounts for proof.

I doubt if hubs will go for a free meal. He has a doctor's appointment that day.

That’s why I joined: to get a free meal. 
Seriously, I think it’s very kind of all of these restaurants to do that. I know I don’t forget them the rest of the year when it’s NOT free!!

It is important to remember all those brave men, You know I had forgotten about the fact that Veterans Day is coming up because the day before or Nov 10 is the Names Day for my late husband Martin and always brings with it many memories And of course that is tomorrow already how time flies,
