I have been cleaning for days now. I could well call it a spring cleaning as I will not clean this way until next year. What drives me crazy is the odor or the different cleaning products. I have tried them all. And all of them clean little and stay in my hands for a long time. Now I can understand well the need for a mask. I seem to place my fingers near my nose several times. And then I smell them and wish I could cut them I lighted a cndle with maracuya aroma but the other stuff is winning so far So I will go to my room while part of the floor dries and will put some cream on my very dry hands. See you.

That is why I wear gloves and a mask when cleaning. But also I mostly if I can use baking soda and white vinegar. But sometimes you need something stronger and in that case I use something called Soft Scrub..no bad smells. I do like Pine Sol though.

Good luck with the cleaning. I can't stand the smell, either. So, I understand where you're coming from.

Do you have something made of stainless steel? Maybe a spoon or a cooking pot? If you can think of something, try rubbing the part of your hands that touched the chemical cleaners against the surface of that object. Stainless steel removes the scent of strong onions or other unpleasant odors from skin. (I have a small thingy that looks like a bar of soap in my kitchen window that I bought from Amazon years ago. It works quite well at removing stubborn odors from my hands.) Edit to add:
Amazon.com: amco 8402 Rub-a-Way Bar Stainless Steel Odor Absorber, Single, Silver: Hand Washes: Home & Kitchen

Mr. Clean makes some lemon scented cleaner that I like. My mother use to soak a tiny rag in vanilla. Then, she'd place it in a plastic bowl behind a piece of furniture. She did this in all the rooms, and the smell was wonderful!

I only use natural cleaners. That other stuff isn't healthy to use. I used to use it when I was young and didn't realize just how toxic it was and that there were alternatives. As soon as I got farther away from my mother's influence, however, I switched over to natural products.

I actually like the smell of the cleaning solutions. Makes the house smell "clean".
