You know MTV. It stands for MUSIC TELEVISION. They used to be all music videos back in the day. (1990s) They started with a reality show (Real World) and eventually the channel was like all reality shows (including Jersey Shore filmed here) and like no music. I was just scrolling through the TV listings looking for something to put on in the background and I found Titanic. Fine. I like it. Then I noticed that it was being played on MTV. What the hell?!?!?! Do they show ANY music videos any longer?

I think it needs a serious rebrand if they're going to stop showing music videos.

VH-1 was supposed to take over when MTV stopped showing videos, but I don’t think even they show videos anymore. I think we’re back to where we were in the late 70s, when music videos were a novelty that you’d see occasionally on Midnight Special.

Maybe because there is youtube, only few people watching music videos on MTV. It is indeed very convenient to watch it on the net. Yes I think there is no need to have a show for purely music videos now. Although for people who don't like using the net and still prefer using TV only, it is still an option. .

Don’t ask me if they still show music videos. I stopped wanting my MTV about 1987. Oh, you should’ve seen it the first 3-4 years, tough.

Hardly any. Ridiculousness runs almost 24 hours a day.

Mtv music videos are usually 4 min long. Some use movie background or dramas to attract viewers

I don't know anything about MTV, but I saw the movie Titanic years back, at the theater.
