Disabled iPad? anyone?

Recently my iPad got disabled by my son..
Like completely..
My hubby know how to fix some issues on phones and iPads but here's the thing.. he can't fix our iPad because it says that it needed to be connected to iTunes.. however, We don't have an account installed in iTunes..
So hubby try to look for another way..
He said that it needed some software to fix it..But some software seems quite expensive..
Can you suggest me some software that can fix this kind of issue in iPad?
