Times Square Will be Normal This Year

Well last year because of COVID the traditional ball drop was not held. But this year New York is going to allow a crowd to celebrate and bring in the New Year. Have you ever seen the number of people that show up at the New Year celebration in New York? They can't be counted! So! Knowing that crowd is going to be that large, they make an announcement that ONLY VACCINATED PEOPLE can show up? Uh huh. Right! And ...??? Who is going to check that mob to see if they have been vaccinated? Why did they even bother to say that? You just told people could gather at Times Square for the New Year. Do you actually think that because a person has NOT been vaccinated that they're going to stay home?????????
The party's on, thanks to COVID-19 vaccines. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that Times Square will be open this New Year's Eve to those who are fully vaccinated.

Here come the scam cards growing by the dozen. New York has been strict in their polocies. I am sure they will have police scanning cars and people, looking for that vaccine card.

If I understood correctly vaccinated people will need to take a covid test prior to the event. That's screwed up.

Well, if they actually check to see if those vaccination cards are legit and if the people are actually in the official database for (covid) vaccinated people then that is not gonna happen.

@lovebuglena I think it would be impossible to check that many people.

It's not only that you have to be vaccinated. You also have to get a covid test prior to the event. What a joke! At least that is what I understood after hearing Deblasio on TV. If anything, require people to take a covid test, and that's it. Shouldn't it not matter whether a person is vaccinated or not if they still have to take a covid test?

It really doesn't matter at this point. Unvaccinated have been going everywhere and doing normal life things anyways. Just do what you have to to protect yourself.

I don't think they've made a decision about London this year. But the same question, who will be checking certificates?
