There was a black&white movie by Hitchcock.

Most of the black&white movies I have seen on TV now seem awfully outdates.
But a few are as good as ever and many of them are some of Alfred Hitchcock´s thrillers.
The one I saw today is called "The shadow of a doubt" (1943). Itwas wonderful, as good as the movie I prefer from Hitchcock (Vertigo).
Those and Casablanca are as good as they were.
Do you have a black&white film you love from those years?

Birds was not one of my favorites as it was more an horror movie. But I enjoyed this one and specially Vertigo.

@marguicha There’s another one where the son pretended to be his mother. Do you recall that one.

@thislittlepennyearns Sometimes when you want to watch a movie again, it is not there anymore.

I adore Hitchcock. I loved him when I was a child and still do.
He was truly genius.
My son bought some dvds of his movies for us to watch.
Of course I already had seen them but he had not. He now knows his movies.
It had The Birds and Vertigo and another one I forget now.
I may have seen the one that you saw but I cannot recall.

I stay away from scary movies. I remember one Hitchcock movie called "The Birds" that caused me nightmares when I was a kid...
Dad loved watching scary movies. There was one he watched when I was little called "Sssss" about a man changing into a snake that gave me nightmares, too. Mom got mad at dad over that one! I thought I saw a snake in the bed when I woke up in the night... It turned out to be dad's belt lying just beyond my pillow. I watched it from then until mom came in to wake me up.

This was not a horror movie. It was more like a thriller.

@marguicha I see. Most Hitchcock movies have an element of horror to them. I'm not a fan.

I saw Casablanca when everyone else in the world had seen it. I got it from the Blockbuster then and watched it crying 5 times in a row.

Casablanca is an obvious choice in terms of the classics.
A more recent black-and-white film that I love is A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. That is a 2014 Persian language vampire film.
Another one would be the 1995 vampire film The Addiction.

@marguicha I am a serious fan of vampire books and movies. I think that I read my first vampire book when I was six (The Celery Stalks at Midnight).

I know nothing about vampire films. Probably I could remember Dracula but that is all. Casablanca is among my very favorite films ever.

I don't think I've ever seen that movie. I can't think of a favorite B&W film.
