Covid-19 Era: 'What it is like to be retired?'

I am just wondering how does it feel after retirement. I used to see my granny aged 103. She just loves chatting with us and prays religiously every day. I had seen some old people younger than her love to do gardening, go traveling, etc. How can they do and enjoy lots of things with this Covid-19 lurking around? What do people do after they retire? Do you want to retire early? Image Credit: media3.giphy.com

I honestly think retirement is a myth.

@allen0187 For a woman it surely is, I clean the house, I cook every day, I do laundry, I take care of the garden... where is retirement?

I also agree with you. For me, if ever I am going to reach my retirement, I would still want to be productive.

I would love to retire and do a lot of volunteer work and traveling. Hopefully COVID is long gone by the time I retire!

I also wanted to volunteer internationally again after my retirement age. The same thing concerns me about this COVID-19.

Yes this virus has made it difficult for retirees I agree. I am glad your Granny lived so long and good. I amuse myself online and also in this place I live, always something to do. I do not have to leave my house and still find things to do.

I retired at 55 which was kind of early. I've had a few part time jobs since then when I missed being around people, but I love being retired. I especially like not getting up at 6am every morning.

They get to take their time and sleep late!! A good life, but continuing to work is also good to continue to use your skills and knowledge

My mom does not go out for more than 2 years, except when she had her two shots of vaccines. She does love watching TV to kill time.

I had to retire because of covid. So I love to cook, and read and some TV. I plan to garden if I live. Good to hear your granny prayed a lot.

W are both retired and our life has not changed one bit because of Covid. I enjoy gardening, I go out shopping, I meet people and we chat.

Im still far from being retired but I wish I reach the retirement age. Sometimes it's nice being retired because you can start recieving your pension and you get to travel more. But some people I know who are workaholic, even if they are retired, they still want to continue to work. You're still young, Rufo Being retired is just a number. Enjoy your retirement days, have more fun. Take some travel and meet more friends. Take care!
