Grateful people

We all have heard countless stories of ingratitude. The world is full of people who seem to have very short memories and who, once blessed with favors, privileges and good deeds, forget their benefactors. Worse still, one could fill volumes with accounts of those who went so far as to turn against the very persons who favored them. This kind of ingratitude has been a constant source of amazement to me. I believe that one reason for ingratitude is a form of insecurity. There is fear to give credit where credit is due will somehow take something away from them. This possibility scares me.

I have never thought that lack of gratitude is based on insecurity. I have read many stories of persons who worked in many forms of entertainment type jobs claiming that when a teacher trains a student for work, the student tells the boss of the company that his or her teacher was mean to him or her when grooming them to succeed them as a sports star or artist.

@Junbals That is what many former entertainers have gone on record as saying that show business is a cutthroat business as well as dog eat dog.

Good point. Insecurity. I think one of the sources of the many problems our species has faced and is facing even today is greed, but greed is a natural instinct that is supposed to increase our chances of survival. If we all were kind to each other and cooperated, there would be no need to worry about survival, there would be no insecurity. But hardly anybody wants to take the first step and trust in the good positive potential of humanity.

I hadn't thought about that aspect but I guess that could happen in some instances.

This is not good. These people need to be told to appreciate a person who has helped them
