Black Friday Shopping

I don't go into the stores. I hate leaving the house. Besides, Black Friday is also online as well. Don't wait for Cyber Monday... everything is sold out. So I was on a website today where I was told at one point .10c more for free shipping. So I traded one thing out for another. $3+ more for shipping. This went on for awhile. I'd buy a more expensive mug and diss the cheaper one. But when i got to checkout there were more discounts added. I was getting discounts left, right and centre, including Honey, a brower add which looks for coupons for you. I literally had to cave and buy myself a book just so i didn't have to pay $20+ for shipping (which is a lot for the stocking stuffers I was purchasing). I shopped on Indigo, Amazon.ca and Bed, Bath & Beyond today. I hate to look and see what my total is buy all were under $100 each in total. Before Black Friday you couldn't buy ONE item for much under $100. I was really dreading Christmas shopping this year with the high prices, but I got some good deals today. I wanted to shop more but I'm exhausted. Shopping online is just as tiring as shopping in stores... back and forth between pages, adjusting orders. No way I wanted to pay shipping. All and all it was a good day of shopping online. Did you do any Black Friday shopping online today?

I didn't do any Black Friday shopping. I do, however, share your frustration with the shipping costs and all. I've had discounts on things in the past that negated any free shipping offer. There's one site where the shipping doesn't seem to be calculated in any logical way. Unless there's something I need to get from a particular place, I'll find it elsewhere or choose an alternative if the shipping costs more than the items. I got one recent bargain after searching all of my discount and cashback places. We've got this new site through work that offers various things - turns out it's still cheaper to just shop elsewhere! I went to buy something through that site as the price was fairly reasonable. I then went directly to the seller and bought two of what I wanted for less than it would have cost for one through the discount site!

I had already had a mug in my basket for a few weeks at this site, so I had no problem replacing it with another mug. But these were stocking stuffers so $20+ for shipping seems a little outrageous for a couple of hot chocolate bombs and a sneaker cleaning kit. But loved getting all the discounts on top of discounts. But I agree, would rather go straight to the source if you could buy off from them.

I don't usually. This year was different. I've been really stuck for what to buy the family for Christmas (aren't I every year?). My daughter had sent me a Christmas wish list. The coat she wanted was $84+ but the Black Friday price was $30 less. I couldn't pass that up. It's the Cyber Monday shopping that is a scam. After Black Friday, which is really Black Friday WEEKEND, there's nothing left come Cyber Monday. I remember trying to buy pyjamas for my girls last year, couldn't find anything in their sizes.
