I can't keep up! I just heard about a new variant called "nu" and now there is another one with the next letter of the Greek alphabet. It apparently has 32 protein spike mutations which is worrying. The vaccines work by identifying and reacting to the protein spikes on the virus. If there are 30+ mutations there is a good chance that the immune system won't recognize and attack the viruses. Dr. Fauci says that there is a good chance that the omicron variant is already here in the United States. Ugh.
Supposedly the QAnon and anti-vaxxer idiots are saying that "omicron" is some code for "moronic" since you can rearrange the letters to make that word. We truly live in the stupidest of times.

Omikron is OK as a name, but I wish they stayed away from the other Greek letters. I need them for other things in science!
I don't need my students to think about viruses in physics class. Or math, delta has other jobs! They could have used another alphabet, maybe the futhark. Or that one from Easter island.

It is moving fast. The deniers can call it whatever. That does not mean it won't be among them. I'm guessing mid-week at the latest.

All of these can be stopped if Cathay let Doctor Li Wen-liang speak the truth but not arrest him for covering this mistake.Now the whole world has to pay for their mistake and tyranny,the whole human being is living in the threat and impact of covid.That's too bad.I just wish God can let this pandemic end soon,it totally ruins our life.
