Short story: The Rabbi enlightens us with his light

The old Rabbi could walk his talk, as well as his talking his talk

The old Rabbi, Zendacai Ruestadt, was explaining some of the terms used in his spiritual talks to his students. He said that the words, love, enlightenment, consciousness, and awareness, all carry different meanings. "It is like this," he said. "We are given a mind with an opening degree of consciousness within it, or attached to it." "With this mind, we can feel an unconscious connection/awareness to/of something even greater than our mind, which is our heart." "Within our heart, sits love, which can connect us to truth, and to all knowledge too." "We need the light of enlightenment in our minds to be able to see fully these truths embedded within love though." "But, we need love to light the candle of enlightenment within us too." "When we are alighted in enlightenment, we suddenly make the jump across the gap between consciousness and awareness then too." "We become aware, completely aware, and this state fully keeps us connected to the love in our hearts, and so we live fully from love's truths, in the greatest way possible then too, as we also then have access to complete knowledge too." "Awareness comes alive at first only consciously, burning its candle in you, but later, you see that you are the light itself, not just the candle that can be alighted." "This is when full awareness hits you." "Awareness sits at the top of all else, and it spawns consciousness from itself into life as a seed from itself, which can expand and grow, through various levels of consciousness, building from love and mind working together, and this eventually achieves enlightenment, a state of complete awakenness, and full awareness too, in its vehicle, together with an understanding of what unconditional love is too. He always talked from the deep knowing of his heart. This is the best kind of enlightenment, perhaps a higher form of enlightenment than that which the Zen masters feel that they have achieved in their minds, alone.

It is indeed enlighting and it is important to be aware of the world around us and to have a deep understanding of all we do and what happens to us so that we can function in this crazy world,

Yes, thanks. It is good for us to try to understand our own part in the world, and where we fit into it too. I think that everything works as a whole, overall, as well as the individual parts working for themselves, sometimes too. I try to understand my experiences in the World in a deeper way too.

We need to make a conscious effort towards awareness and enlightenment. That pursuit should be at the back of our minds goading us along and giving purpose to our lives. Unconditional love is the key to opening our hearts and forging ahead with our heads held high. Then all supposed obstacles are stepping stones to our ultimate liberation from being held down by material pursuits that make us go around in circles.

Yes, without effort, we often do not appreciate enough what we have, or what we are given. Free stuff, unearned by us, usually is fleeting, and does not often build us more strongly, greatly, in who we can be. It more builds flaws in our thinking, than right thinking. It more often destroys our potential, than releases it. God seems to know this, and so he makes us sweat by our brow here, as the Christian Bible puts it, so descriptively.

@Shiva49 Yes, it appears that God likes to challenge us in the minds that he has given us, and when we stretch our mind past its previous limitations, it then can connect to a whole new level of consciousness then too. The rungs of the ladder of consciousness can only be climbed by us making that effort to climb them.

@innertalks God knows how to keep us alive every moment, be on our toes, with challenges galore. Without them, we just exist. Likewise, each generation has to build on what is passed on to them, brick by brick. Even other species have to adapt to survive here.
