Good day to you all, Just another day at work but I did go to the doctor after work and that went well. I got there about 10 minutes before my appointment, and they got me in right away and the doctor came in the room 2 minutes after my appointment time. Love it when they are on time. He took my blood pressure and the medication most be working I was only 2 points above normal he said so he was happy about that but told me to make sure I keep taking the meds. Things seem to be improving a little and that is good, he said he is going to extend my scripts and to keep doing what I am doing, and he will see me in a couple months unless something changes for the worse. He said he likes the improvement but would like to see me think about quitting smoking. Yeah, not sure we will see that happen but it’s a nice thought. I told him that we’ll see about eating better and staying on the meds for now and maybe one day I might quit smoking. We both kind of laughed, it’s not like I don’t know it’s not good for me or anything but after 37 years of smoking not sure that it will be so easy to quit. Besides mom always told me not to be a quitter.

It's a doctor's job to encourage you to quit bad habits. However, if you quit, you need to make that choice for yourself. It's good news you've improved health-wise for the most part and the meds are working as they should.

I know I been hearing about quitting for all these years but just never have felt the need Pretty happy the meds seem to be making a difference, I guess the key will be to stay on the meds.

@popciclecold LOL. I can see that. I feel it's more of a habit than a need, of course there are those times that I feel I need them though.

@Bensen32 Quit smoking and take up drinking Dr. Pepper. Then that can be your vice you hang onto.

I hope maybe you can quit one day. I can imagine how hard it would be. Glad your blood pressure is good.

Yeah, who knows if I ever will. I think the big part is the "want" to quit and honestly, I don't feel like I want to. It is good that the blood pressure is down to a decent number now, it was very high a month ago.

Glad you got a good BP report, but I really do hope you can quit smoking. I know it's terribly hard, though.
