A raccoon who decided to stick his head inside of a peanut butter jar to eat what was left of the meal is grateful that concerned persons noticed the poor creature standing on top of a fence in a tennis court in Des Moines Iowa over the weekend so he could be rescued by members of the Animal Rescue League. (ARL)
One ARL officer was able to find a way to rescue the raccoon by removing the jar from the head of the raccoon by getting the raccoon back to the ground and use his skills to get one of the ears out of the jar which made it easy to get the raccoon's head out of the jar and become a free animal who is grateful not to be trapped inside of a jar for a long period of time which could have ended in disaster.
The raccoon left the tennis court area where he can find freedom from being trapped inside of a peanut butter jar.
Good job ARL officer for saving the life of a raccoon who just wanted to have something to eat.
The incident happened this past weekend.

What a pity. An empty butter jar shouldn't be left unattended or not properly dispose so as to prevent endangering wild animals.

I also hope that the raccoon has learned his lesson not to try to eat food out of an empty jar again.

You are right since there are signs around parks to tell persons never to leave food outside of a trash can.
