Wow, making an effort to NOT spend money is really helping me remember what it's like to have money in my account, and to not be scared to log in to my online bank account, is totally effective in making me realize HOW MUCH I have been spending. Also it's helping me address my "hoard" so to speak. I don't hoard, but I do gather a lot of things I enjoy shopping but don't often get around to using right away. Like, face masks, fun makeup things, hair masks, etc that I bought on sale. I hope at the end of this spending detox I can dump a few hundred dollars onto my debt, that I otherwise would have spent on dumb, day to day stuff. I did have ONE purchase I needed today: $6 on stamps to mail some Christmas cards. Tomorrow, I will have to top off my gas tank (approx $25. My car is a gas hog and I've been driving all around to appointments). Things I have been doing with my time besides shopping: *went through old paperwork/junk mail I had been holding on to (get this:quite a bit of casino pamphlets and coupons! All recycled). *de-cluttered a few items, found a few pairs of clothing and household items to get rid of *been loitering around on the Buy Nothing facebook groups if I feel like I want to acquire something...haven't gotten anything good lately *making money via side hustle - mine has been shopping/delivery with Shipt. This week I made about $90 or so, and I plan on doing some more this weekend. *investigate budget plans....and commit to one. *I am also on-call for the fire department throughout the month of December, so I will be trying to be home A LOT - not drinking any alcohol either- my plan is to deep clean, rearrange my place, declutter, finish Bates Motel (have been working on this series for months but haven't dedicated the time to actually finishing it up), write & send out Christmas cards, spend time reading, and probably more time doing my side hustle (Shipt). Day 1: $0 Day 2: $0 Day 3: $0 Day 4: -$25.87 (gas), -$16 (car wash) Day 5: -$110 (chiro appt), -$20 (groceries), -$30 (heel lifts per chiro dr) Day 6: -$0 Day 7: -$11 (target groceries) Day 8: -$6 (stamps) Total essential expenditures: $218.87 - over half of which was spent on a chiro appointment & related supplies. Total unnecessary purchases: $0 I am also not including RENT in my budget stuff, as that is 100% non-negotiable. How is your week going? Are you crushing any goals this week?

I have a limited income, I can only spend a small amount anyway. I usually buy myself one small thing every month, usually art supplies or a book.

I see.... Sometimes I spend more money than I make, which is not productive at all. Glad you are able to live within your means.

That's impressive good luck with the rest. My week is going great, the only extra spending will be on a fabric I want to try to make a gown out of. If I don't get it right then it will be a waste.

@maezee not all of them l, I struggle with pants the most, but yeah, it's cheaper and more creative. I learned to sew in order to make me a barbie princess dress tho, not normal clothes. I'm not a professional tho.

Depending on how many cards you buy, send out and what you mail, a book of forever stamps might be cheeper.

Yes indeed! I always buy the forever stamps. I pay most bills online though, so I seem to very seldom send out actual mail!

That is a really good plan that you have. We have a budget and stick to it.

Any "particular" budget or plan you started with? I have never in my adult life created a budget...It's a bit overwhelming!

You go!!! So thankful that these things are going so well for you!!! I’m cleaning house. I’ve been on it for eight days now, which may sound like a lot; however, I have to go slowly (because of my back and asthma), and I’m not doing it from sunrise to sunset. I have a pile of stuff to take to Goodwill tomorrow, and a lot more room!!!
