Jumpy cat.

Eariler today, I put mama cat in my office so I could go out without fear of her door darting. She hasn't yet, but she used to be an indoor/outdoor cat when we lived at our last apartment. In the five years she's lived with us, she seems quite content to stay indoors. However, with how the weather's been and knowing cats are curious by nature, my husband and I take precautions when we're going to use the front door or be in and out of the garage a lot. Mama the cat, hasn't wanted leave my office. And, she's jumpy for some reason. It's kind of cute she wants to keep me company, though.

@kaylachan That is interesting that she does not want to leave your office and nice that she wants to keep you company.

Yeah. Makes it kind of hard when I have things to do, but nice she's not underfoot. She's got one heck of a startle reflex, though.

@kaylachan My cat turned 7 in August and she is still very very active. I have no idea if it is because she does not have the space she needs right now or what.

Glad you have a place to put her to keep her safe inside so she doesn't dart outside. We keep Ginger in a room as well when we are bringing in groceries so she won't sneak out on us.

We've had cats door dart in the past. We've learned it's easier to lock them up then it would be to try to keep them from getting curious.
