Blue Jays Eating Deck Peanuts

Even when the rain falls, the birds show up at the deck bird feeder.
For now I am feeing them whole unsalted peanuts. They love these.
Blue Jays in this photo each had two peanuts in their mouths.
They fly to the trees to crack the shells and eat the peanuts.
Other birds are showing up now.

I always love to watch the birds and the squirrels at the feeding trough. It’s funny how the birds can sit on a shelf with a squirrel in harmony, but you can’t get TWO squirrels on the same shelf.
