The Reverend Tot Tomson was giving his weekly sermon, and this week it was on the idea of freedom, versus predeterminism. Here is what he said: "In some ways, our life can be scripted by something higher than our self, perhaps by God, or our soul, for example, but is it also predetermined, or predestined to take place, in any way too?" "Now, love is the oneness of God being itself." "When we move away from living in this love, we are predestined in one way, or another, to return to full loving." "Our freedom of choice determines how long this might take." "This is because all acts for us to help bring us back again to love." "Nothing is actually predetermined except that the final goal will be eventually achieved by all souls." "This is to reach a conscious understanding of how love lives in them being them, whilst at the same time remaining in God, being God within them." "Separateness, and unity, are two sides of the one coin." "Oneness contains all, but it is often recreated into its infinite parts, in infinitely different ways. Duality is only one such way." "What is the love of God? Is it something to be found, and if so, is it worth the finding?" "Love is lost when you pursue your own wants, and to find it again, we simply must learn not to depend on wanting to fulfil our own wants." "God's love is worth refinding again, because it is the only thing to give your life the feeling of real meaning." "You can intellectually debate the meaning of life, but the only way to really know that you have the actual right meaning is to feel it deep within your heart, and this is finding and hanging onto the connection to the love of God, and not losing it again to the passing wants, and desires, of your ego." "What are the implications of God's love for us all?" "Love lives in each person, and the implication of this is that there is always this connection to God, via his love, available for every person that wants to connect to God, and thus live a life serving God." "Be that person, be that love. Serve God both from yourself, and from God." "That is the gist of my message for you today." And with that last line, his sermon was complete for today. Trying to stay focused on working on being God like is tough when having to deal with world distractions.

Yes, it is tough, but I do not let it worry me too much, as in the back of my mind is always this desire to be more God-like, and to live my life mindfully, in that way too.

@Deepizzaguy We need more patience for doing that too, and as I get older I am becoming less patient, with these types too, that cause me angst, so my work to keep more God-like is doubly hard for me now. Problems upset me more as I get older too. I just want a steady problem-free life to run me home the rest of my way...lol...

love lies in each person, i wonder sometimes if we have to search for that love.

Well, if we do search for love, we will find it most everywhere we look if we look past the lies to the truth of a situation. Within ourselves, love lies there already, but sometimes we have locked it up out of our minds and hearts, by our thinking, wants, and beliefs, even our ego, holds a key to our chest of love inside of us. The thing is though, if we just love, and forget so much trying to find it first, we will find then that love expands in us then, the more that we do love.

@DocAndersen Perhaps God is both the chicken, and the egg rolled into one, or perhaps he is nothing that we could concretely describe, and so is way above our imaginings of what he might, or might not be. Did God begat God too, or is God a given, and so he is always there, as the foundation stone behind all else? Love, if given, always multiplies, as it stays with the person it is given too to, and so helps this person to increase in love, as well.

@innertalks love begat love, interesting thought. there is no chicken and egg (which came first) issue here for the love is God.

Service to humanity is service to God - it is said. I would say service with love to all around us keeps us close to God and able to hear his prompts humming inside us. We come with a homing instinct and however much we stray, we are bound to retrace the steps, when the home stretch beckons, and it means no one is left behind. Life can be one hell of an experience but still, heaven is assured when we follow the path of love.

That's a nice way to put it, siva, that we all have a homing instinct to return to God, and to his love. Even with a homing instinct, we still have the free will, to decide for ourselves to not follow it, though, but when we do love, that homing instinct becomes stronger, and we get back to being the right person of who we are, and to living the rightest life that we can be living too. Buddha was big in us doing the right things like that, right living, right intention, right understanding, right action, right speech, etc.etc.

@Shiva49 Yes, free will comes with responsibility, which must not be taken lightly, if we are to wield it effectively, and rightly in our lives, and to not adversely affect other lives around us too.

@innertalks Thanks Steve, the free will should be exercised wisely to value add in our own way to God's creation that is beyond compare. There is an inner prompt to do what is right and that is given free - comes with the package! Let us not leave with a feeling of having blown the blessings showered on us.
