Today Has Not Gone as Planned

Today did not go as planned, but that's okay. We took my neighbor and her mother-in-law out to lunch at the restaurant here in our community. Her mother-in-law is 90 and only recently moved down here to GA. She had never been to our restaurant and we had made reservations for a table near the window so she could see the beautiful view of the mountains around the lake. They both had a wonderful time and we were happy to take them out for something Christmasy to do. This is a tough Christmas for them because my neighbor's husband died in August and both of them are sad. Afterward, when my husband went to the gym, I was supposed to go grocery shopping for Christmas and then we were going to meet back home and go to the Bavarian town for dinner and to see the Christmas lights. But we were so full, and I knew he was tired and needed a nap that I just suggested we go to that town next week, between Christmas and New Year's and have a relaxing afternoon. My husband liked that idea. So he took a nap, and I was on my computer, and I had a lot of fun grocery shopping and I felt the Christmas spirit from a lot of other shoppers and the clerks. I am very happy because there are still a few days before Christmas and I am caught up enough on my Christmas preparations to be able to relax and enjoy the Christmas season. How are you doing on your Christmas preparations? Are you ready for Christmas?

The decorations should still be there next week and just as lovely. Sometimes staying home is the best

We are ready for Christmas. It's nice to have things under control and hopefully nothing will go awry with our plans.
