Do You Open Your Presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

My family always opened our presents on Christmas morning because Santa Claus came after we went to sleep.
I know some families open their presents on Christmas Eve. I used to date someone whose family went to midnight mass at their church on Christmas Eve and when they returned home, Santa had arrived so they opened their gifts from Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and then just opened their stockings on Christmas morning. That would make me feel as though Christmas Day was a big letdown. But every family has its own traditions.
So if you celebrate Christmas, when does your family open gifts; Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

@Kouponkaren I do not mind the prepared foods and presents. It made it special for being with people close to my heart dearly.

My family of five opens on Christmas Eve because we spend most of the day outside of the house at other family members house. So the kids won’t have time to enjoy. So we do Christmas Eve and Santa comes and drops things of for the kids in the morning.

Anymore we do it on Christmas evening. When the kids were growing up it was Christmas morning.

@Kouponkaren Just easy for everyone. My son can see his other grandparents and father on Christmas eve and Christmas afternoon. He has Christmas morning for Santa with his daughter. My husbands daughter used to get with her sisters and mom in the afternoon. Now her mom is gone but she is seeing someone new and it fit good with their Christmas.

When I was a child we used to open it on Christmas day but now we open our presents on Christmas eve.
