What are people doing for Christmas? / myLot

I hear that many people are celebrating the holidays with family this year. Due to COVID, I am spending the holiday alone for the second year in a row. I haven’t seen my aunts and uncles and cousins since 2019! Many of them are elderly or little children and it’s not safe for them to be closely around others. One aunt did invite me to her home but I know some cousins there would be unvaccinated and take issue with me wearing a mask around them, so I did not go. So I am not really celebrating this year - but playing online games with friends who are in similar situations

Why would anyone take issue with you wearing a mask Would you have had any issues being in the company of unvaccinated people You couldn't keep a mask on all day

I went through kidney failure in October and am still medically vulnerable from that, in addition to some other health problems. Be as far as them having issues - well people are just mean sometimes.

I'm sorry you can't spend time with your loved ones. Western Australia has just had a positive case when we have been free of cases for quite some time. I hope you enjoy your online games. We play sometimes with our son who is in Ireland.

@Lolaze We have been very lucky but mostly people obey whatever we're told to do regarding staying home, wearing masks, etc.

Yeah, this Covid era is really tough time to deal with... We have a simple Christmas celebration unlike before where it is supposed to be a grand celebration...
