On looking into the freezer for something else (it always happens) I found some frozen mussels, just enough to make a soup for my dinner tonight.
I used half an onion, half a carrot and half a potato, all cut in round pieces. I added the mussels, some parsil and I boiled it.
Later, when it is not so warm, I´ll have this wonderful soup for dinner. I also will have a pasta omelette made with a bit of pasta left from lunch.
Iimagine that the food that most of you are eating now is food to keep you warm.

I never had mussels soup, but I do enjoy clam chowder and I think I have had oyster stew too..possibly anyway.

I eat mussels in many ways. We have many in my country so they are cheap.

I´ve never known about a cream of lettuce soup. How do you make it?

@marguicha I make this soup when I have too many external lettuce leaves. You need a small onion, one leg of celery, bot chopped. Heat butter in a pot, add a tablespoon of flour, let color a little, add the chopped onion and celery, mix in, add filtered broth little by little stirring, let cook 10 minutes. Cut the lettuce leaves, add to the pot. Mix 1 egg yolk with 2 tablespoon of dairy cream and 1 tablespoon of Parmesan, add to the pot, mix, serve with croutons.
