What do you have to do on the first day of the year?

Here the opinions are divided, some just want fun and it doesn't matter what it is after, others are more traditional and follow the rules left by the parents ! For me, on the first day of the year they don't give money, they don't wash . How are you ?

We eat traditional food for the good luck (lentils, grapes, pomegranate). Men visit the houses of their relatives to wish Happy New Year, women stay at home, as the first step in of the year should be of a man to have good luck.

@soymex If the family gets together is not a problem, but the first to get inside the house/apartment should be a man.

I mean, don't you just go to the family ? For us , it's just the opposite . .. we have to go out together , so that we can be like that all year long .

We don’t do anything in the first day of the new year just hand out at home so what we do every other day of the week. The kids will stay up and try to make it to Midnight tonight and then they will go to sleep.

@soymex it has to do with the fake both me and my husband are sick and got to take care of three kids.

Nothing! I don't HAVE to do anything on New Year's Day. But I probably will work on forming some goals of what I want to get accomplished in 2022 and also start working on our downstairs which has a lot of clutter. Have a nice new year's day.

I think first day on new year is just like other day. The special day is everyday, and i just sit and relax watching tv or eat some biscuit enjoy the day lol...
