Some information about your mother...

So, my wife is back in the rehab hospital. They took her over on Thursday, 12-30-2021. (That's so I know what year later.)
Between it be right after Christmas and right before New Years, the records lady hadn't had a chance to call me. In fact, she had been on vacation when my wife went there before.
When I get up, I have a voice mail from this lady. I was planning on going up there anyway, so I thought when I get more ready I'd call her.
However, before I even got out of bed, the phone rang again and her number popped up.
I answer.
"Hello, this is Ann from Cornerstone, do you have a few minutes to talk about your mother."
?????
"Ah... she's my wife."
I'm not sure exactly how to explain this to you guys.
You see, I'm just a tad over 5 feet tall (153 cm.) I am 68 years old. I have been going white since my 20s. To top it off I am a dark ash blonde, or was when I didn't have so much white.
My wife is 5 foot 8 inches (177 cm.) She is 61 years old. While she has quite a bit of white hair, she still has more dark brown hair then white.
Over the years, when people who knew my wife would see us in the car, they thought I was her mother... This is the first time someone thought she was my mother. Now, she had never seen either of us.
So, I guess when someone is 61, they might normally think that a child might be the place to get information.
I don't know... all I can say is "She's not my mother!

@Shavkat my sister-in-law and her brother and his son in town call her. Her mom is quite the independent lady and she spent 2 weeks in her apartment back in 2020 because she had to go to the hospital for something. So, I suspect she's not too unhappy because she can go down to the food facility in her seniors apartments anyway.

I understand completely. Some people thought I was Juanita's mother. Sure... I squeezed her out when I was 9... not.

I remember the time I took my mom and my wife and her mom to an outlet store in San Marcos. She wasn't my wife then, in fact, marrying her wasn't even ever considered until I suggested it.
Back to the story.
The gal at the store thought she had 3 generations. She thought my mom was the wife's mom's mom and that the wife's mom was our mom. I mean, yeah, there was 13 years between my mom and her mom and there was 13 years between her mom and me, but... my mom and I are right about 5 feet tall and the wife is 5'8 and her mom is 5'10.

Ignorance..people are so ignorant, even when you tell them the facts, they put their own labels on people. So sorry xo

That's crazy. I have had scam calls asking for my husband. I'm not married. And once a cashier had said that my husband went to his car to get his driver license.

Back when we had phone books, remember those? I had my name under a false male name. Why? well, they didn't care what name you put in it, but they charged to keep it out of the book.
Anyway, I had learned in college that if you had a phone with just an initial, guys would try them in hopes it was a woman living alone.
So, I'd get calls asking for this guy. My then roommate would sometimes say: "Oh, he's not here right now." They'd often ask when he was getting back and she'd reply: "I don't know."

That might count as a complement. But then you really need to clarify that shes your wife not your mother.

lol! It always amuses me when i am given a title that should be reserved for someone younger than the speaker.
Maybe you sound young on the telephone? and yes, people often assume that when calling about older people it is their children they are talking to...
Hope your wife gets better soon.

I can't wait to see my brother, his wife and his daughter and her husband tomorrow and tell them this story. Because of the lockdown his wife's mother can't come....
