You all know how much I like doing reviews so here is my year in review for 2021. Awhile back on here, around this time of year I compared years to having flavors. I remember @xander6464 wished me a spaghetti year, simple, satisfying and tasty. :-D Instead the past few years have been like burned pizza. You make it through it. It's not the best. So it is with 2021. The year began nicely, quietly enough. Still mostly isolated since vaccines weren't widely available. It wasn't too far in to 2021 that I noticed my best friend, Jodi acting strangely though. She passed away from lung cancer in March of 2021 and I'm still reeling. I didn't expect her to pass. After Jodi passed I spent a lot of time doing the bare minimum and sleeping. I actually did that until about fall. There were some enjoyable moments mixed in though. Like Momma and I planted a garden, got vaccinated and boosted, and for a brief period in summer when cases were down we took several day trips, to Mitchell, SD and the Corn Palace and Taylor's Falls here for the Riverboat ride several times. Went on my tour of fairs and participated in a couple of Renaissance festivals with my dance troupe friends. I got royally backstabbed by another "friend", but that "friend" got me going to Church again, a Church I feel comfortable at. I made some new friends through Church and got 3 more dog-pet sitting accounts :-) Had a close call with Covid, it made me thankful that I'm boostered... and the holidays were nice. I got the VR Headset back in fall as Covid cases started going back up - so it helps me keep active and sane somewhat. So I guess 2021 was like a burned pizza that still had a piece of pepperoni or 2 that was alright. Ha. I am grateful for the parts of 21 that didn't bite too much, and I hope that 2022 is a lot kinder for me, for everyone. How was your 21? What are your hopes for 22? Photo: Pixabay

You certainly had a lot of ups and downs as most people have. I enjoyed being in Connecticut during 2021. I felt safe. Hope covid leaves us for 2022.

I am sorry to hear about your best friend and some other not so good memories you had in 2021, as you said, hopefully 2022 will be a lot kinder and gentler for you. This is the first time I heard about "spaghetti year". I like that, simple, satisfying and tasty. I guess my 2021 is more or less like that, though might not be tasty, it's simple and satisfying. I am at home with my kids almost throughout the whole year. I am a stay-at-home mom and homeschooling my kids, so we just enjoy ourselves staying at home all the time, except when I needed to go for vaccination. It was a peaceful and relaxing year for me, though there were still lots of thing I planned remain undone. Hope my 2022 will be a bit more fruitful, while remaining simple and satisfying.

Thank you so much for the kindness. It's been a tough year for sure but I sure hope that this year will be nicer and for you and your family, too. Ha ha, oh "Spaghetti year" as far as I know comparing years to foods is a weird joke I came up with, and "Spaghetti" being MyLot user @Xander6464 's invention. :-) Stay at home mom and homeschooling is a lot of work! Good for you.

I can see our 2022 as being much worse than 21 as we've had very few restrictions because of the COVID. However, early in February we are going to open our border to the east and then we are bound to get a huge rise in numbers.

Sorry to hear that. Here too, no restrictions, most people go about life unmasked in spite of a huge spike in covid cases.
