I made some progress on Day 1 of the diet. I am excited to announce that after 1 day on the low carb no sugar diet I have lost weight. I started at 157.8 and today I was 156.4 this morning. Hurray. That's a 1.4 oz. weight loss overnight. Here's what I did: Exercised 25 minutes Drank 60 oz. of water Got a good night's sleep Ate the following: Breakfast: 1 cup of blueberries, 1/2 cup of walnuts, 1 cup of coffee with a splash of non-fat half and half but no sugar Lunch: A tossed salad with 1/2 can tuna and oil and vinegar Dinner: 3 slices of turkey, steamed broccoli and spinach It could be just water weight but I will take any loss at this point. Do you think I will lose any weight today into tomorrow?

Good for you. I'm not sure you should expect to lose weight every day but I hope you do.

@Kouponkaren That's the best attitude to have. If you slip up, just start again next day.

@JudyEv I think I may have goofed today. I made dinner using a pasta made from lentils but afterward, I read the carbs on it and it was pretty high. Oops. Then after dinner I was enjoying some sliced strawberries and added some almond milk whipped cream which was yummy, but now that I am thinking about it, the whipped cream probably has sugar. Igh. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day.

Keep it up! And keep it steady--I don't diet well--but managed to take off 3 lbs during the holidays--go figure!

@Kouponkaren not having social functions means less eating for me--

@divalounger That's amazing. That's the time of year most people put on the pounds. Good for you. I gained 2 pounds, which I am in the process of trying to lose right now.

That's wonderful, should I try it too? I'm also overweight. That's a significant weight loss, I guess the exercising has helped a lot too. Without exercise, no matter how you diet, your weight loss program may never become successful.

@Jenaisle I don't know if this particular diet will work for you. But basically, it involves staying away from carbs and sugar, drinking a lot of water (64 oz if you can) and exercising for at least 30 minutes every day. No carbs mean staying away from anything white including bread, rice, and pasta. That is hard for me. I am not a medical doctor so I would suggest checking with your doctor before you start a diet.

I think you might, but the first few pounds drop quickly. As time goes on, if you're weighing yourself daily, you'll see the scale go up. Don't get discouraged. Weight goes up and down and many factors can contribute to it.

@kaylachan When I diet for a specific amount of time like I am doing now, I do weigh myself every day, to keep me motivated. I have a digital scale so even if I lose a few ounces, which keeps me motivated.

You will lose at first then it will slow down.

@wolfgirl569 Yes, that's how it's been for me in the past. Just a few pounds less will get me motivated to keep losing even if it takes a while.

@xFiacre I am hopeful that this will do the trick to get me off the weight plateau and start losing again. I will be so happy if I can hit my goal weight this year finally!!!
