No not same kind as the person in my last post. But real fruit cake. Most people don't like it but I love it since I was a kid. My son in NY had me one sent from Harry and Davids fruit for Christmas and a little card in it said refrigerate. So I had the kids put it in the fridge for me to munch on. Problem is, I just had a bite or 2 of it and my daughter said it might be too old. It was in a tin just like the one in the photo and I always thought they are supposed to last a long time. Now I am concerned. What do you think? I won't be eating more. Hope I don't kick the bucket tonight.

I didn't think those things ever went bad. I'm sorry it didn't taste right.

that's what I thought but maybe my daughter making that suggestion got it in my mind. I seem to be all right.

I like fruit cakes, often those bought in stores are not very good, but home made is a very good cake. Do not worry, eat the cake, those kind of cakes can last for months.

I never buy a fruit cake and never eat them either. If you think it is not safe threw it away. Better safe than sorry.

Fruit cakes my grandmother taught us to make were kept for a long time. They were stored at room temperature in her pantry. Always delicious. They might get hard if in the fridge. What about toasting a slice?
