Chris Meyer who is an employee at the United States Post Service was at the right place at the right time recently when he saw a female senior citizen named Linda Houlton who slipped on an icy sidewalk to pick up her mail. What bothers me of what happened is that Linda had fallen on the ground for a period of nearly 20 minutes due to extremely cold weather in Iowa which reached five degrees below zero wind chill temperature outside. Since I was not there either no one was in the area or they did not know that Linda needed help to go back inside of her home since she is a senior citizen. Chris admitted that as he drove his mail truck in the neighborhood where the incident took place, it is not his normal delivery run that day. Chris did the right thing by assisting Linda get on her feet, pick up her mail and take her back home before a tragic event like Linda freezing to death would have happened. Wen Boatwright who is the son in law of Linda called Chris "A Good Samaritan" for assisting his mom in law. Wen and his relatives are hoping that Chris does receive some kind of reward for assisting someone who needed to be helped that day. I am sure that Chris will be rewarded by his employer as well as city officials for his kind act of kindness toward Linda that day.

How kind of him to help her. Those falls can be dangerous.

I know what you mean since I am glad it does not snow in Lake Charles except once in about five years.

That is wonderful that he was at the right place at the right time and could help her, I wonder that no neighbor looked out and saw her,

That is what I am wondering if anyone was around to assist Linda at all since it was daytime.

It can be life-threatening if you get caught out in such cold conditions.

That is true since falling down on ice can cause a serious injury.
