Aaron Greatfull, had died recently, and his son, John, was now visiting his grave. John looked down at his father's headstone, and read his name, "Aaron Greatfull", yes, a mix of an old fashioned name, with a surname which depicted the character of his late father too. His father was indeed always grateful. John had not ever thought about that before. He had just taken his father largely just for granted. Young John, was not like his father though, and he was never grateful for most anything at all, which is probably why he never saw before the connection between his father's attitude of gratefulness, and his actual surname, "Greatfull". Then John, still quietly contemplating over the life of his father, sort of heard a whisper, coming to him, through the breeze, blowing gently past him, and then, he heard these words: "To be grateful, you must be greatfull of love, being greatly full of love brings you to being grateful." "Your father loved, and was greatfull, as he was always full of love. To be great, we need to be grateful for the chance given to us here, by God, to love." John, after that, tried to see all from the eyes of love, rather than him seeing things from a platform of what he thought that he could get out of something to personally benefit only himself. The secret to love is gratefulness. Be grateful of love. We cannot buy gratefulness, but when we live from it, we increase immensely the value of our life, both to ourselves, and to all others around us too. John never did recognise whose voice that was that spoke to him that day, but he was sure grateful to hear it, and from then on in, in his life, he lived up to his surname of "Greatfull" too. Yes, if we could all leave such a legacy, the world would be a much better, more loving, place for that too.

I have tried to console myself in times of loss and stress - count my blessings. That is being grateful of love. The world is full of those who forget this basic tenet - being born a human is by itself being showered a great blessing. Then it is up to us to give back and thereby show our gratefulness and largeness of our hearts. Maybe it was John's father who gave that parting shot to him.

Yes, I was going to say it was really his father too, but I left it up in the air. Maybe, our voices do change slightly, when we enter the other worlds, and if we just hear someone's voice like that without seeing them, we might not pick up on who it is either.

@Shiva49 I also have had prompts to change course in my life, and to take a different path in my life. The promptings were without voice, and sort of like a nudge. I have explained before, how I was walking past a secondhand bookshop one day, years ago, and I just got a nudge to go inside. I ended up buying the business, from the owner. I left my then job, and my life changed forever after that one nudge to do that.

@innertalks At times, it is just a prompt without the need for voice at all as it has happened to me at times. I felt the door shut tight with no way to escape had opened.
