I like this kind of melon seeds very much.Its skin is a little hard.But the nuts inside are very delicious.It is a kind of watermelon seed.The melon seed skin in the picture is the melon seed skin I peeled. We mostly buy and grow watermelons that don't have seeds in them. When Pretty and I do accidentally buy a watermelon with seeds in it, I usually just swallow the seeds whole. The seeds are edible so I don't worry about swallowing them. *shrug*
The only watermelon seeds I've ever seen for sale here are for planting and growing your own watermelons.

No, this kind of watermelon is specially planted to produce melon seeds. It is another variety of watermelon.

I have eaten raw black melon seeds but never processed. You know, spit a few, eat a few...
I have made sunflower seeds and gourd seeds but never melons.
Are the seeds salted or put in a brine before roasting them?
I'm curious now.

I hadn't seen them in the store but apparently the local Walmart sells them.

I roasted sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds, but not gourd seeds. I don't know how it looks like.

It is called "Pepita" (literally small girl version of Pepe) in our province, maybe all around the country. I don't know why that endearing name. Fond childhood memories...

This black melon seed is not easy to eat in the mouth. The shell is hard and difficult to peel. It needs a little skill to peel it easily
