Cases like this confuse me. Why would anyone want to kill a 24-year-old Graduate Student with no criminal record?

I'm befuddled once again. Why was this person not behind bars if he had shot a gun into an occupied vehicle? And is it really true that the LA Times did not cover this story for several days after it happened, as one friend of mine alleges? We live in odd times.

I think that there is nothing to discuss because there is too much disinformation. What did really happen here?

@TheHorse "Apparently"... journalist do not know what happened, but they have to write, bad news are great news for them.

@TheHorse You are right, good news is not news.

@LadyDuck Usually, the journalist's rule is "If it bleeds, it leads." My friend could be wrong about the LA Times not covering this story early.

@mildredtabitha My hunch is that they in in different circles. He apparently is a criminal with a rap sheet, and she was a Graduate Student (I'm not sure what her field was). When I was a Graduate Student, I did not associate closely with criminals. Grad School is hard!

I will never understand whey one person would even consider murdering another,

Me neither. "Temporary insanity" is a legal defense. So is "incompetent to stand trial," I think. But I think anyone who would shoot another human is a little bit "crazy."

It's clear he has no conscience.

Why was he out and about? What would happen so someone who shot up a car in Europe? Australia? Malaysia? Same thing?

@just4him I think it should be that way here. Building more prisons would create jobs. And I'm OK if they get "bread and water."

@TheHorse Other countries are harder on their criminals than we are. Here we give them a slap on the wrist and send them on their way. There, they actually put them in prison and throw away the key. Unless things have changed.
