Valentine Kisses: Give Me One More Kiss

What a sad day in the entertainment world, with the loss of both Meat Loaf and Louie Anderson. It seems like a good time to sneak a country song in my list of songs with “kiss” in the title for Valentine’s Day, since everyone’s blasting “Paradise By the Dashboard Lights” and won’t mind the country music. 
Here’s today’s song.

But of course Jim Reeves had to show up!!!!
This is an early recording, back when he was on Fabor/Abbott, and back when they were telling him to sing in a higher register because nobody wanted to hear a baritone country singer (cough-cough Tennessee Ernie Ford, cough-cough Tex Ritter).
So he did. You can hear his “real” voice sneak in a couple of times in those recordings. It does make for an interesting aspect of Reeves’ career.
But I love it all.

@FourWalls Glad they gave the kid a break. I got chills when he sang the word "low." Here he's singing in C sharp. The music site I visited said to play in C, but they didn't mention putting the capo on the first fret to make it C sharp. Dang he was good!

@TheHorse — I read he recorded it at 10 in the morning so his voice was “fresh” enough to hit the low notes.

Nope, my Meat Loaf post included Heaven Can Wait, I do remember this song and of course Jim Reeves. Right now I am so mad at all this COVID that took Meat Loaf away that all I can say is -
zoom me to the moon soon because here on Earth Covid is saying rah rah rah them's my sentiments and I am sticking to them
