We are still eating the things my stepmother sent us for Christmas before she passed away suddenly. Today we are using up the last of the turkey in some turkey soup that I made today. The entire family is sick, so this was the perfect way to finish up the last of the turkey (the bones were in the freezer for a week after I baked the turkey). Thanks, Jane, for thinking of us even if we didn't get to do things the way you had planned. I was thinking of you as I ate my soup, which felt really good going down since my throat is still bothering me a little. This is way better than Omaha steaks would have been.

To tell the truth, we returned the gifts she had bought us so that there would be more money to take care of dad, but the food was much appreciated.

That's nice that you are making such good use of your stepmother's gifts. I'm sorry for your loss.

It was timely since we are all sick. And thank you.
