A Canadian multi-millionaire, Peter Grant, started working on his dream home back in 2005. It was built on a 43-acre plot of land near Lake Temiskaming which is in Northern Ontario. Construction halted in 2009 after Grant filed a protection from creditors. All of his assets were put up for sale, including the mansion. He was $479 million in debt. It sat idle until 2010 when it was again put on the market for $25 million. It was bought up by a Toronto company but nothing has been done to continue the build. It is thought that the company still owns the mansion but nothing has been done and the Peter Grant mansion, as it is called, is set in ruin. The all-glass exterior has been damaged and there is graffiti here and there. Plywood walls, an empty lift shaft, two spiral stairways, and two unfinished swimming pools are all that is left of the sprawling 65,000 square feet interior.

Such a waste. How does one get in $479 million worth of debt?

Makes me wonder, what the company bought the mansion for?

I hope he can still recover from his losses... We can never predict what is coming ahead for us ...
