Jen Costa who is living in New York suffered from depression after her English Bulldog named Azzurra vanished from her home five years ago just after Jen had an operation to remove cancer from her tongue. Jen thought that she would never reunite with her pet despite having the dog microchipped and with her identification tag on her possession. The good news came on January 11 when Jen was getting a haircut at a barber shop when she read an email on her cellphone that an official with the Henderson City Animal Rescue contacted her that her dog was located and waiting to be picked up and come home with her owner. Jen traveled from New York City to Henderson Tennessee to reunite with her best friend on Friday. It was a beautiful sight to see Azzurra reunite with Jen after a long time apart.

Where the dog went was never revealed to Jen by the animal rescue group. At least not in public.

@RubyHawk That is what I am thinking that someone took care of the dog not knowing who the owner was.

@Deepizzaguy Somebody must have had him during the five years, if he’d wandered around the dog would have starved or been picked by the dog catcher.

That's a good reunion. I'm guessing we will never find out how the dog got that far...

You are right since where dogs travel after they got lost will never be explained where they went after leaving home.

I thought she would have found it before that long. She spent a horrible 5 yrs. Why did they take that long to find her?

I guess the person who took care of the dog did not know that the dog belonged to her owner.

Pity that the dog can't talk and tell its owner about its adventures.
