Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. I came to know from my calender update that today, 25th January is celebrated as "National Tourism Day in India". It was established by the Indian Government to raise awareness of the importance of tourism for the country's economy. India's rich history, culture and geographical diversity makes the country one of the most popular tourist destinations among the foreign travelers. It offers various forms of tourism like Cultural, Heritage, Cruise, Nature, Educational, Business, Sports, Rural, Medical and eco tourism. According to statistics, over 7.7% of Indian employees work in the tourism industry. Every year, the country is visited by millions of foreign tourists. National Tourism Day was established to promote the tourism industry and recognise it's contribution to the growth and sustainability of tourist destinations and local communities. India also participates in the celebration of the UN World Tourism Day. However, due to pandemic since few years the whole tourism industry across the world had been badly affected as flights were restricted between some countries and lockdown happened. Also many people avoided travelling because of the rise in Covid cases. A lot of people in Tourism Sector also lost their jobs during pandemic. However, it returned to normal before few months but I think it's little affected again due to the 3rd wave. The Government of India however, came up with the concept of Online Virtual Tours of certain places like Museum so that to promote tourism in order to boost the economy. Hope and pray that the virus leaves our planet soon so that everything can get back to normal and people can travel freely without the fear of virus or wearing masks, following number of protocols started due to pandemic. Share your thoughts about it. Have a great day. Take care!!!

The pandemic and closures have affected our tourism industry too. And I think January 26 is your Republic Day. Enjoy any celebrations you might have.
