It is about time. 83 year old Justice Breyer is said to be announcing his retirement from the US Supreme Court tomorrow after more than 20 years on the court. He is a liberal justice and now has apparently finally seen that the time to retire is now while Joe Biden is president and Democrats have the majority in both chambers of Congress. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema had better not screw this up.
Justice Stephen Breyer, a consistent liberal vote on the Supreme Court with an unflappable belief in the US system of government and a pragmatic view of the law, plans to retire. Follow here for the latest news and reactions.

I just read this. I hope Republicans don't stonewall whomever Biden appoints. I know he wants to choose a black woman, but I hope he puts qualifications over race and gender as he makes his list.

I've seen 2 names mentioned several times on Twitter by prominent lawyers and commentators: Ketanji Brown-Jackson and Leondra Kruger.

Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema had better not screw this up. ----------That's all I've been able to think about since I heard about it.

20 years is long enough to serve.
