On the corner of Main Street and Capitol Boulevard in downtown Boise stands the Egyptian Theater. It was built in 1927 in the Egyptian Revival Style which was popular after the newly discovered tomb of King Tut. It is adorned with motifs and imagery of ancient Egypt.
In the 1950s a man by the name of Joe held the projectionist position. He was walking up the stairs to the projection booth when he had a heart attack. Since then stories of what is believed to be him making strange sounds, turning the lights on and off, and opening and closing doors have been popular in the area and on social media.
This is a cool old theater. I used to go there quite often and set up in the balcony. I went with my boyfriend to see "Gone With The Wind" there, went with a girlfriend to see "The Exorcist". Now it is used for local activities.
Image is my own.

@celticeagle Maybe theaters are past their time. Ghost stories might bring people in.

I remember going to the old, vintage theaters in downtown Cleveland.
